The Board of Directors of the Canalway Trails Association New York (CTANY) re-elected Nelson Ronsvalle, the Southern Champlain Canalway Trail Group Director, as its president for 2014. Jeanne Williams from the Northern Champlain Regional Canalway Trail Group was elected Vice-President. Wally Elton from the Central Champlain Regional Trail Group was elected as Secretary and at-large directors Alan and Marlene Bissell were chosen as treasurers. Joan Delaro was also re-elected to the board as an at-large director.
The CTANY Board of Directors consists of one voting member from each of 12 Regional Canalway Trail Groups, plus three at-large voting members. Additional non-voting directors represent the National Park Service, Parks & Trails New York, and the Canal Society of New York State.
CTANY is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to making the Canalway Trail a world-class, multi-use recreational trail. CTANY assists state agencies, local municipalities, counties, and civic organizations in developing, maintaining, and promoting the Canalway Trail System. CTANY functions in partnership with the NYS Canal Corporation and operates under the non-profit status of Parks & Trails New York.
