The Champlain Canal opened 200 years ago this year connecting the Hudson River with Lake Champlain and all points north in New York State, transforming commerce and tourism for this region. To celebrate this milestone, Moove Your Way Trails Family Fun Fair will be held on June 3 at Mullen Park in Fort Edward from 10AM - 2PM. The good news keeps on coming! The section of the Erie Canalway Trail west of the Village of Oriskany is now back open, after being closed due to a trail washout and repair project 🎉 Good news! The tunnel at the end of Leggiero Lane in Rotterdam Junction has reopened after undergoing some modifications to make it safer for cyclists. The last round of #CanalCleanSweep awards goes to the groups who collected the biggest hauls! These groups went above and beyond to make sure the trail is sparkling clean and ready for the season 💫 Take a ride on the trail, learn some fun facts, and kick back with a beer 🚲🍻 For our next round of #CanalCleanSweep awards, we're highlighting the strangest objects found out on the trail 😱 Today for our first round of #CanalCleanSweep awards, we are giving a shout-out to the groups with the most Clean Sweep Spirit 👏✨ Tune up your bike, lace up your sneakers, or dust off your kayak-- the 2023 Canalway Challenge officially kicks off today! Tomorrow marks the official kick-off of the 18th Canal Clean Sweep, hosted by @ParksTrailsNY and @NYSCanalCorp!
