Red’s Twilight on the Erie RV Park and Campground is a family-owned business located right on the Erie Canal and Canalway Trail, in Macedon. Red’s was opened four years ago by Kevin and Barb Heald. The owners received their Bike Friendly New York certification in April 2018, becoming one of the first certified private campgrounds.
In addition to RV spots, Red’s tent camping sites and cabins are of special interest to through cyclists and other Erie Canalway Trail. There’s also a pool, an arcade, a petting zoo, and more.
Cycling groups that have camped at Red’s will tell you that the facility is more than a place to stay. The owners do a great job organizing social activities, performances, and event that engage the local community. Check out the fall schedule below:
Red’s offers lots of amenities for cyclists – local cycling maps and knowledge of the trail, one-night stays with no reservation, a bike repair kit, discounts offered to cyclists, self-serve laundry, public charging station for phones, bath house, showers, and a camp store.
While the 2018 camping season has come to a close for most, keep Red’s in mind for next year’s Erie Canalway Trail outing.
